Good Morning, Vietnam!!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :) I promise that will be the last time I say it...
I ARRIVED IN HO CHI MINH CITY A FEW HOURS AGO!

This morning, after about 24 hours of straight travel, I arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and I am absolutely giddy! This is my third time coming to Vietnam, but this time has a permanent feeling - which makes it extra special.
Drive from the airport.
The Lord was keeping an eye on me with this trip (as He has on every other trip before).
As I flew out of Salt Lake City, the plane turned and gave me the perfect view of the Church Office Building and the Salt Lake City Temple. It was the perfect little goodbye to my wonderful years in Utah.
Flying out of SLC.
Feeling all the excitement/terror at once. :)

When my flight from Oakland to LAX cancelled, He helped me arrange for a flgiht that was early enough to make my Taipei flight. He even helped me stay calm. Everyone around me was freaking out, but it didn't really sink in until later how blessed I was to find a quick plan B.
When my flight from LAX to Taipei arrived late, making an already short layover only one hour long, He had already arranged a plan to get me through the Taipei airport quickly. An older Vietnamese lady sat next to me on the Taipei flight and we 'happened' to have the same flight to Vietnam. She and her group of friends knew the airport well and through gestures, my few Vietnamese phrases, and their few English phrases, they helped me navigate a last minute change of plans on the part of the airport. Such a blessing to have their help and even arrive early for my final flight!
My miracle friend who rescued me in Taipei and
even taught me a few more phrases in Vietnamese!

When I did not have enough money to pay for my VISA, a kind security lady let me outside of the main airport so I could pull money off my card. (My card worked great - that's an improvement from the time I almost became stuck in the Copenhagen airport...a story for another day.)
When I made my way to the taxi curb outside of the Saigon airport, I was being petitioned by a sketchy taxi driver. The Lord let me know that he was not legitimate, and that I should find another taxi driver. This taxi driver was honest and got me there for cheaper than I originally planned and even ran inside to make sure he got me to the right apartment building!
I have this nice apartment for three months while I search for a cheaper
and more permanent place. Sure nice to be able to arrive and
immediately have my OWN place! My favorite part may be the name:
The Artichoke Bed and Breakfast
(maybe the word "artichoke" in Vietnamese is pretty?)

Finally, I am SO grateful to have walked into a beautiful apartment, with large open windows, a bed, shelves for my books, good WiFi for my work, and a SWIMMING POOL to cool off. Oh my goodness, He has taken very good care of me today.

My heart is so full...
Destiny
