This marks the 5 year anniversary of my Semester at Sea voyage!

Of all the experiences in my life, three have made the greatest impact on me: my LDS mission, my job at the Church Office Building, and Semester at Sea. I do not know why the Lord helped me get scholarships to be able to attend SAS, but I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to sail around the world and gain a global perspective!

Today also marks the 1 year anniversary of my brother's Semester at Sea voyage. He called me this evening to share "a moment" together as we thought back on our voyages. I realized (yet again) how incredible that experience can be for college students. I wish every deserving young person could have that experience; I truly believe the world would be a better place if we all had the opportunity to see the similarities we all share with our brothers and sisters around the world!

I pray for the SAS program regularly. It is a non-profit organization that often struggles to get funding, but has managed to stay alive for nearly 55 years. I want to spend the rest of my life helping students get onboard because I have seen how many of the alumni have made a difference in the world as a result of their life-changing SAS experience.
