1. What is your dream? |
To set up an interpreting institution here in Ghana
|
2. How does your dream improve your Deaf community? |
The interpreting institute will train many interpreters and teachers of the deaf whose service will influence the lives of deaf people in Ghana tremendously.
|
3. What have you done in the past to improve your Deaf community? |
I was involved with my association to train interpreters and also taught at a private Sign Languge institute but all failed due to financial constraint and lack of certification.
|
4. What can you tell us about education in your country? Do Deaf go to universities? How much is tuition? Etc. |
Deaf people go to universities here in Ghana but records indicate that mostly all the deaf in the universities including myself are postIngual deaf or hard of hearing. The tuition for the universities can be about $1000 per year without living allowance. |
