Manhattan by Cruise and Foot [Day 3]

DAY 3

Woke up to a cloudy morning and perfect weather for being outside! I worked on my goals before going downstairs to spend time with everyone at breakfast.

I had some time to rest before we headed out on our lunch cruise. (It's been a blessing to have so many opportunities to power nap and keep a balance!) On the cruise we went along the coastline of Manhattan, past Ellis Island and around the Statue of Liberty. I absolutely LOVED the views and being on a boat again. :)

Everyone seemed to have a good time and we even had someone propose to his girlfriend onboard (and surprised her with his entire family who had been sneaked onboard before we arrived). So fun!

I also had fun watching everyone dance. I then realized that I've gotta learn some fresh dance moves for our next trip. My moves were ancient back in my youth stake dance days - it's time to update. ;)

I was still feeling good and rested so after the cruise so I just went walking, starting with Carnegie Hall. Someday, I'll get to play in that place (even if it's closed and no people are in there...I don't care!) :)

For being a Millennial, I am TERRIBLE at selfies

and always look at the wrong place. :D

Then I went to Times Square which was packed with Saturday night crowds - but so exhilarating. It's just a fun sometimes to be around that many people from EVERY corner of the globe!

After walking for an hour or two my body was done for the night so I came back and ordered the best Turkish food I could find in New York. It tasted almost like I was back in Istanbul - it made me so happy! :)

I found out that Victoria, our Deaf Dreamer from Ghana, will not be able to come to the USA with her volleyball team. Even though she got a passport and visa on time, other people in the group weren't able to get their visas in time from the embassy. :( So sad, my heart breaks for her - she's been so excited to come!

As a result, I spent the evening cancelling my flights to DC, rescheduling my flights home from NYC and adjusting all the shuttle schedules. Even though I am sad about the change, I feel at peace and pray that another opportunity will open up for Victoria! If anything, she should be able to start school in September! :)
